Dr. Yao also received the Mid-Career Award from ACCI. She says, "I am very honored to receive the mid-career award from ACCI. Professionally, I grew up in this organization – I started presenting my research papers at ACCI when I was a graduate student at Ohio State and received many awards at ACCI conferences. I met lots of great researchers there and have been collaborating with many of them. I appreciate their support and friendship, without which, I would not be where I am now."

The Mid-Career Award is awarded to someone who has demonstrated excellence in the field, either in research, education and/or policy combined with service defined as contributions that further consumer interests, including service to ACCI as a professional organization. Someone who forges collaborations with other consumer interest organizations and groups, supports policymaking; has 15 years or fewer of full-time professional employment in a field related to consumer interests; and is an ACCI member in good standing.
