YMA Scholarships
MU's
TAM Department is one of 23 U.S. programs whose students are eligible to apply
for the $5,000 YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund awards. Funds for these
scholarships are raised from all sectors of the fashion industry to encourage
the development of future leaders and talent for the industry. Juniors who will
be entering the senior year may apply; a minimum 3.0 GPA is required. During the
fall term, interested students submit a preliminary application; these are
pre-screened by a TAM faculty committee. The strongest applicants will be
chosen to submit a full application, which goes to the YMA Scholars Committee
in New York, who will make final selections. This final application needs to be
well developed and attractively packaged. Recipients may also receive
assistance in finding internships, many of which are in the New York City area.
YMA Scholars are invited to and honored at the industry fundraising gala in
NYC, at YMA's expense, in early January of their senior year.
