The Funding Decision: Not Funded

To Do List:

  1. Read your reviewer comments
  2. What are the major criticisms? Research design flaws, experience of investigator and team, budget concerns, etc. Are they fixable?
  3. Response to Review: Most agencies have a response to review that is required by many agencies. This is often limited to 1 page but you can also change the narrative elsewhere. Copy and paste the reviewer comments into comments in the narrative Word file where appropriate. This will give you clear direction of what was said and will allow you to address it as needed.
  4. Delete the review comments after you have addressed the criticism and/or prior to resubmission.
  5. Obtain updated letters of support, bios, current and pending if applicable, etc. Update your budget and justification.
  6. Go through the planning and writing stages again with your revisions.
  7. Submit 10 business days before the deadline. R&GS and OSPA both ask for 5 business days.
