Student Goals:
Scholarships for success
Goal: $1 million
Enrollment in the College of Human Environmental Sciences has grown by 20 percent in the last decade. But each year, outstanding prospective students are lured to attend other institutions by better scholarship offers. Or, qualified students cannot enroll because they lack the financial resources to attend MU. HES wants to extend its recruitment reach by providing both merit- and need-based scholarships.
College-wide student scholarships
Scholarships pave the way to HES for outstanding students and capable low-income students.
Undergraduate research funds
Students who have undergraduate research opportunities are better prepared to address real problems in their chosen fields of study. Research subjects in HES range from tackling childhood obesity to studying global textile trends to designing environmentally friendly buildings. By funding undergraduate research, you can help students excel academically while contributing solutions to problems that affect society.
Fellowships and assistantships
Our highly regarded programs turn away large numbers of applicants from around the world. Funds to support fellowships and assistantships will extend our global reputation and offer top quality education to more students.
Graduate students need the extra support provided by financial assistance. Many graduate students have full- or part-time jobs to pay for school and, sometimes, to support a family, too. The load they carry can be heavy. Your support will enable them to focus more fully on academic success, which will have an impact on their future and the future of society.
