Faculty Goals:
Supporting students by supporting faculty
Goal: $1.5 million
Your support for faculty endowments benefits students and the quality of teaching and mentoring they receive from outstanding faculty. Please help students by generously supporting faculty endowments.
Research scholars and faculty research enhancement
The college puts a high priority on research in every program. In order to maintain our faculty’s outstanding reputation for research and its transfer to the classroom and society, we need funds to support and enhance research across all programs.
Permanent faculty for Office for Financial Success
A grant from State Farm Insurance Companies Foundation furnished this office in Stanley Hall to foster financial literacy among students and the community. The salary of its director is funded by a grant that will expire in 2008. We seek funds to make the position permanent to continue this highly successful program.
Child life clinical practicum supervisor
A child life clinical/practicum supervisor will teach and supervise students completing their practicum in hospital settings, which will allow more students to enter the program. Child life specialists who graduate from the program help children and their families cope with the stress of illness and hospitalization.
Faculty scholar or professorship in exercise physiology
A specialist in exercise physiology will bolster the college’s initiatives in lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The initiative has attracted more than 100 students. Professor of Nutritional Science, Tom Thomas, says the endowed position is the next step up in securing MU’s reputation in this growing field of study.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences has the leading researchers in the area of molecular mineral nutrition. |
